Piranesi is thrilled to introduce New Orleans to the paintings of Dr Gary Bodner, an Atlanta obstetrician and gynecologist turned artist.

Dr. Bodner’s work has developed quite a regional following and has been reviewed nationally by American Art Collector, a well respected magazine in the art world.   His work is known for its loose style of painting and unusual combinations of colors.  “It’s not really about the subject so much as it is about having a reason to apply paint to the canvas,” says Bodner.  “I consider whether the subject matter offers me the opportunity to put different colors together because the power of color is so important to me.” Lately, in addition to traditional landscapes and interior scenes, Bodner has been experimenting with mixed media and subjects that lend themselves to more abstract expression.
